How To Knit Reversible Cables

Reversible cables: there is absolutely no reason not to put cables on your scarf, because once you know this trick, the cables will show up on both sides and you won’t have an ugly “wrong-side” to hide.

Reversible cables, which use the special properties of ribbing to accomplish the double-sidedness, can be used on 1×1 or 2×2 rib.

Work a swatch in 1×1 rib – move 4 sts to a cable needle and hold to back or front of work, (k1, p1) across next 4 sts, (k1, p1) across sts on cable needle. Repeat every 8 rows.
