A Burst of Colour with Kaffe Fassett (7 Free Patterns)

A New Year is pretty much around the corner, and so we wanted to introduce something new to the website in 2018. One new weekly feature we will be adding is a ‘Designer Spotlight’, where we will be introducing you to a particular pattern designer, and listing a few of their knitting patterns which we know you’ll love.

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Kaffe Fasset: an American-born artist who is best known for his colourful designs in the decorative arts – needlepoint, patchwork, knitting, painting and ceramics. You can fead Kaffe’s entire biography and learn more about him on his official website.

Waterlilies Runner Stole

This wrap or bed throw by Kaffe Fassett is the perfect canvas for the blue tones of his new Handknit Cotton colours. Worked lengthways using the intarsia technique, it would be suitable for the more experienced knitter.

Showcasing an eye-catching and unique striped effect using a monochrome palette with brightly coloured edging, this would be a statement addition to any outfit.

Upscale Tumbling Blocks Throw

  1. I love so many of these patterns! Like the ladies striped to knitted sideways. Also the pink one with damonds along hem. Keep saying i must be a bit more adventurous! Did these things when i was young.a very long time ago!!!!
